Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP) chunks are an unflavored and versatile food produced from defatted steamed soybeans. They are normally used as a substitute for meat in vegetarian burgers, casseroles, stews, soups, and especially meatballs. NOW T.S.P. Chunks are made entirely from soybeans. Through an extrusion process using forced air, a meatlike texture is produced. It has no chemical additives and is an excellent source of protein, fiber, magnesium and iron. NOW also supplies T.S.P. NOW Textured Soy Protein (T.S.P.) Granules are made entirely from soybeans. It is extruded like pasta but with some air forced in to produce a meatlike texture. It has no chemical additives and is an excellent source of protein, fiber, magnesium and iron. NOW also supplies T.S.P. chunks which are darker in color and about 3/4" in size. Serving Size: 1/2 cup (43 g) Suggested Use: For normal use, pre-soak in water or seasoned sauce to soften before using. Just simmer for 25 minutes.
